About

T.W. Lee is a menswear designer who completed his BA in Fashion Design at the University of Westminster.

His growing collection of designs are based on his vision of a contemporary explorer, growing in consciousness as he sees different parts of the world less travelled, in places where he feels the history of colliding cultures and the deep contradictions in the global landscape. Much of Toby's design practice is based around combining rugged fabrics, functional construction and smart silhouettes and details, to create an elevated version of travel wear.

Ultimately, his aim is to empower men, through clothing, to adapt to different surroundings and lifestyles, and to move boldly in the direction of their dreams. To be, as he puts it, 'Stylish in Adventure'.

Working in the garment industry in Ghana, learning hands on about the construction of real US workwear and large scale manufacturing.

Adventures in Ghana's cities and rural landscapes

The trip to New York that inspired the first official 'T.W. Lee' collection and the Norfolk Coach jacket, a combination of US sportswear and British tailoring.

Experiencing the Canadian wilderness during the height of winter, the place that inspired the Saskatchewan jacket, influenced by the historic convergence of French and Cree cultures in rural Saskatchewan.

Learning from a Cree craftswoman how moccasins and various leather goods are made. This experience left a lasting impression on the way Toby designs accessories such as the travel pouch.
